Local help, practical scope

Fresh paint is the fastest way to make a room feel looked after, but the result depends on what happens before the first coat. PropFlo handles interior painting in Fort McMurray homes and rentals with the prep built in: filling nail holes, patching dents, sanding, caulking trim gaps and protecting floors and fixtures.

Prep is most of the job

Paint highlights every flaw underneath it. Before painting we look for nail pops, dents, cracked corners and old anchors, then fill, sand and spot-prime them so repairs do not flash through the finish. Gaps between trim and wall get caulked so the line looks clean.

This is also where we confirm colours and sheens with you, because the sheen you choose affects how well a wall hides marks and how easily it cleans.

Choosing a finish for how the room is used

Flat and matte finishes hide surface imperfections well and suit ceilings and low-traffic rooms. Eggshell and satin are easier to wipe and are common choices for living areas, hallways and bedrooms. Semi-gloss is often used on trim, doors and bathrooms, where moisture and handling are higher.

For rentals, many landlords standardize one wall colour and one trim colour across their units so future touch-ups match without guesswork. If you already have a colour sheet, we will work to it.

Painting through a Fort McMurray winter

Interior painting works year-round, and the dry winter air helps paint dry. Rooms need to stay heated, and paint should not sit in a cold garage or vehicle overnight before use, because most paints list a minimum storage and application temperature on the can.

Exterior items such as fences, railings or a deck are seasonal. Most exterior coatings need warmer, dry weather, which in Wood Buffalo usually means late spring to early fall. Include them in your request and we will review them with the rest of the work.

Painting for landlords and property managers

Between tenants, a repaint is often the single biggest improvement to how a unit shows. We coordinate painting with the rest of the turnover, such as drywall patches, trim repairs and flooring, so the work happens in the right order and the unit is ready for photos and showings.

Painting questions

Before you
send the list.

Do you paint occupied homes?

Yes. We protect floors and furniture, work room by room where possible, and keep the rest of the home usable. Mention pets, children's rooms or home offices when you send the request.

What should I include in a painting quote request?

The rooms, approximate sizes or photos, whether ceilings, trim and doors are included, the colours if you know them, and any timing such as a move-in or listing date.

Can you paint after drywall repair?

Yes. Patch, prime and paint is one of the most common combinations we do. Repainting the full wall, corner to corner, usually hides a repair far better than a spot touch-up.

I have leftover paint from the last time. Can you match it?

Send a photo of the can label with the brand, colour name and sheen. Paint that has aged on the wall can look different from the can, so we may recommend repainting a full wall rather than spot touch-ups.
